Training
Colt Starting ~ Starting young horses is our specialty. We use a combination of natural horsemanship methods, along with some of our own, to create a colt that is calm, friendly, responsive, and respectful. We start all of the horses in the round pen teaching them lateral and vertical flexing (precursors for collection), desensitization, and proper movement through the gaits. Horses are then exposed to various riding environments such as; arenas, cavaletti, trails, cattle, dogs, water etc. We encourage owner involvement and include one lesson per week free with your horse. We require that the horse be at least 2 years old to be enrolled in this training program and any horse older than 5 years old must be evaluated before acceptance to the program. We require first month payment and a current coggins and vaccination record when the horse is dropped off. Check Pricing
Foal Training / Socialization~ During our foal training, we focus on doing all of the basic ground work, such as: halter training, farrier training, trailer loading, grooming, correct ground manners and introduction to the round-pen. This is a good program to send a horse to the summer before you want it started. Check Pricing
Roping Horse Training ~ The horse must be able to go through the basic gaits correctly and have a basic understanding of neck reining before being accepted to this program. If not, then the first few weeks will be establishing the correct handle and not on cattle work. Our focus is on correct position, box manners, and scoring. We focus on building a roping horse that has a strong foundation without holes. We use live cattle, dummies, drag logs, etc. during the training process, not only live cattle. Check Pricing
